A Single Shot Rifle Chambered in 308 Winchester
|
I mounted a Bushnell Elite 3200 4-12x40mm on it |
This H&R Survivor is chambered in 308 Winchester. It has a 22 inch bull barrel and a plastic stock. I will be adding
a Limbsaver recoil pad to it for a better shoulder fit and to reduce the kick. With no pad installed, it's just my shoulder
resting on the plastic.
I mounted a Bushnell Elite 3200 4-12x40mm scope on it and will be breaking it in when the good weather arrives in the
spring. Out of the box, it has a 5 lb trigger pull. I expect that will work in as it's used.
It's difficult to see, but there is an offset hammer spur installed. With medium rings, the scope just clears the hammer.
The ring screws and mount were freshly coated with Guntite, and the reticle was leveled using a Segway Reticle Leveler.

The butt plate opens by untightening a knob located on the bottom of the stock at the rear. |

This rifle is an inexpensive alternative for hunters looking to take a back up firearm with them on a hunt. The rifle itself
is $320. Single shots aren't for everyone but they are fun to shoot and capable.
