– a supplication
Lord,
While the battles rage,
And man kills man,
The angels are busy,
Collecting the forgotten,
And protecting them.
They are the waifs of war,
Who suffer much,
When the hate is strong.
We pray for them.
The old, who cannot run.
The young, who have no one.
The sick, who cannot flee.
And the confused, who cry out to Thee.
And every year, we take a day,
To think about the ones,
Who answered duty’s call.
But what about the waifs of war?
Who prays for them?
No one at all?
We ask for help that wars should cease,
And to help Your children come together,
In the name of peace.
Lord, hear my prayer.
